The Great Plague of 1665
See how the Plague affected a small village community

The action takes place in 1665 in a village near Eyam, the famous Plague Village. The children are in role as villagers.

They meet a travelling peddler who tells them that most of the neighbouring village of Eyam has died of the Plague due to the fact that they were not allowed to leave their village.

A  s the Plague has now died down, the children are given the challenge of helping the survivors and hearing their story. A highly interactive drama workshop, focusing on the true story of the village of Eyam in Derbyshire.

“A fantastic day! The Great Plague workshop really developed the historical skill of empathy
and made the children consider the events at a deeper level. All the children enjoyed it,
even one for whom English is an additional language."
Sarah Evans, Cheam Park Infants School, Sutton.

A one hour workshop for up to 30 children
in a hall or other large space.
Cost: £98.
